What is handmade?
What is truly handmade?
Nowadays, we often hear that something is "handmade", but do we always understand what that really means? We often come across jewelry that is created by putting together ready-made purchased parts. Although such work can be beautiful and original, it cannot be considered true handmade. But what exactly is handmade?
Handmade begins with the preparation of raw materials
My approach is to create jewelry where each element is created from scratch. It is not just about putting the parts together - it is about how they are created, starting with the flowers that I grow and collect from my garden or purchase from other farms. The flowers from which I create my jewelry are carefully grown and collected. This process requires patience and care, because every flower is different.
From nature to jewelry
Once the flowers are obtained, the second, very careful step begins – their processing. I prepare them and place them in resin to preserve their natural shape and beauty. Then each element is sanded, varnished, and only then – I create a piece of jewelry from it. This process is time-consuming and requires a lot of attention.
What is true handmade?
So, what does it really mean to be handmade? It is much more than just putting together parts. It is about the time you invest, the materials you use, and the love and care you put into each step. If the jewelry is made from raw materials that you have prepared yourself, then it is truly handmade.
I believe that true handmade is not only a process that requires patience and attention, but also the creativity that comes from this process. This is what makes handmade special and valuable. The making of each piece of jewelry is a story about nature, about the work I put into it, and about my connection to what inspires me.
So if you want to buy a truly handmade piece, choose jewelry where the elements are created from scratch, where love and care are invested in every detail. This is what really makes a piece of jewelry special – its authenticity.

Discover our jewelry
Did you know that people tend to face difficulties in finding unique and personal jewelry that stands out with its uniqueness and special story? Imagine how often you have come across the same jewelry with others, without feeling the special connection or message that it could convey. It can be truly depressing, because it seems to lack that personal touch that makes jewelry something more than just an accessory.
But there is a solution that solves this problem with a special charm and a touch of nature. Natural flower jewelry, created by hand right here in Latvia, offers a unique opportunity for everyone to find something truly special. This jewelry is made from flowers that grow in our own gardens and meadows, and each of them is unique in its own way. The flowers are embedded in a composite material, which allows them to maintain their beauty for a long time, thus ensuring that the jewelry is not only beautiful, but also sustainable.
Deco Clay polymerclay
To make flowers, you need polymer clay Deco Clay craft, which is available in 7 different colors. By mixing colors with each other, infinite gamuts of tones are formed. Special shaping tools, shapes, scissors, paints and brushes are also used to create flowers.

The Deco Clay Academy continues to develop, offers new creation techniques, organizes exhibitions, master classes, which have a wide range of interests both in Japan and in many other countries of the world.
Real flowers in epoxy resin
The process of making natural flower jewelry is quite complicated, but interesting. Most of the flowers we use in making jewelry are grown in our backyard garden.
We buy individual flowers from other farms in Latvia, and we also look for them in meadows and forests.
The flowers need processing to be used in jewelry making, then the jewelry also needs polishing and varnishing to give it luster and clear transparency.
Epoxy resin is safe and durable, flowers retain their color for a long time. However, exposure to sunlight can cause the flowers to fade.
